I bought one of the ‘49s from TradeEx. I picked a hardwood stock rifle from the available listings. Received it last week. It’s all matching original stamped numbers and the stock matches as well. It has the refurb stamp on the dust cover however all the parts match with original stamped numbers , nothing crossed out or electro penned.
Everything appears to be genuine on it , the stock does not have a date stamp , only the Tula star and serial number. From my investigations I believe that is the correct way they were and that they did not come date stamped on the stock originally.
I have purchased from TradeEx a few times recently and have no reason to believe that they in any way appear try to misrepresent their products to make a profit .
I’m happy with the rifle and will leave it in the cosmo for now , I bought it as a collectible to satisfy my own desire for one.
Whether the price is considered high or not doesn’t matter to me , I wanted a nice blued ‘49 and now that I have one I’m happy either way regardless of how cheap they may have been 20 years ago lol
