Hi everyone,
Kind of a weird request, but let's see where this goes.
My work place is at the Canadian Museum of Nature (Education department). I am co-organizing a casual evening program, called a "café scientifique", and I am looking from someone who knows the Sport Hunting world pretty well.
Essentially, once a month, a few folks gather at the Fox and Feather on Elgin Street to discuss some "in the news" question. Each time, a few guest specialists are on hand to present some facts, or researched opinions, about the question. This month (on October 28), the question presented will be "Sport Hunting: are humans natural predators?". I'm trying to find someone who could speak for the sport hunters - someone who could bring facts such as the economic impact of this industry, the history of it in Canada, that kind of info. I do hunt, mostly on the other side of the river, but I am not familiar enough with the sport hunting world to present it (plus, I organize the event!)
These events are not made to stir up contreversy or have people take sides; their geared toward exchange of information, facts, opinions, in a group of maybe up to 30 people. We also offer our guest specialists with beer and food ($25 gift certificate).
So, if you'd like to join in, please send me a PM, we'd like to have our list of specialists complete by the middle of next week.
Thanks! And, safe hunting season to all.
Lou
