Subject says it all! Anyone got an example(s)? Pics would be great so I can live vicariously through your good fortune!

For some reason it seems Kreigsmodell K98k's seem less common in Canada than many other countries. Most here are pre-Kreigsmodell 1944's and earlier, with the exception of dot/dou 45 rifles built up postwar at BRNO for the Israelis.

I have a BYF45 with a full-kreigs stock. I posted on the K98 forum and one of the guys said although my stock is a byf, it was likely a postwar replacement.
I also have that is considered a semi kreigs, as there is no channel drilled for the cleaning rod. Duffle cut vet bringback (cry).
I know someone here has a nice original kreigs, remember seeing it some time ago.
Sorry, wish I could help:)

Looks like my 1943 BCD is a "semi-kreigsmodell". No disassembly disk in the stock, a hole drilled in the butplate, but mine does have a bayo lug and band spring.

Is a full kreigsmodell more valuable on the collectors market? If so it seems sort fo wierd, considering they corners that were cut to make them.

its not thw quality, rather the rarity.

btw, it looks like east german/ czech front sights on your byf?

It's a BCD Wilhelm Gustloff Werke, Weimar, and yea, it served with the East German police after the war. THey rebarreled it and put on the ugly Czech sight hood. I'd love to find a matching handguard and maybe even put on the older sight hood.

A 1943 bcd should not be even a semi-kreig. bcd didn't switch to semi-kreig until December 1944.

I would suggest your east german refurbed rifle is wearing a post-war replacement stock ;)

DROOL. Now THAT'S a late war 98! ;) Odd though that it's a red glue laminate, not white glue, and that it's stained. Most Kreigsmodels were unstaned with a rough finish and often a white glue laminate from what I have seen.

I would expect that for a full kreig, yours is likely early - perhaps December '44 or January '45?

Claven2 - Have you seen W. Darrin Weaver's "Desperate Measures"? A number of Kriegsmodell K98k rifles illustrated there.

The stock is pretty rough and unstained, it is just that I treat all my milsurps to a coat of BLO as part of yearly upkeep. I've had this BNZ for many years and it has received quite a few coats, thus the deeper finish. Whenever I pull something out for a photo I give it a quick fingerful too.
