anyone had a chance to handle or shoot the Double Badger .243 / .410?

that may be true...but .410 is a lot more affordable. this would make for a perfect coastal deer gun...243 for the deer, .410 slug if a blackie comes to investigate and it's light! 6.35lbs!

I don't think hunting big game is legal with 410 slugs in BC? Also the ballistics are dreadful - you're talking a 87-110gr 41cal bullet. It doesn't have a lot of energy to begin with and you lose almost half of it by 50yds. In fact, I think 9mm has more energy by 75yds...

my faulty memory...I thought the slugs were bigger than the 1/4 oz they actually are. the muzzle energy at 50 yards is a third the recommended 1500ftlbs for black bear. heck, at the muzzle it's only half.

guess I will have to look around for a lightweight O/U combo with 12ga. I want something I'm carrying...not lugging. :p

lol Yeah makes sense. It would still make for a fine blacktail/grouse combo gun for walking skid roads or something.

I'm in the same boat, been wanting a lighter gun for a while as my main hunting rig weighs in at a bit over 8lbs all loaded up... And I'm pretty sure my new rifle is going to weigh more than that one, so apparently I'm going backwards...

yeah...was looking at some of the combo guns on TradeEx and the lightest I found there was a CZ that was just under 7.5lbs. all the Tikka's are over 8lbs :p

I may just have to go with a Savage Lightweight Hunter in 7mm-08.

If they only made 'em in lefty thats exactly what I would have bought. Instead I found a used Rem 700 in the same caliber, youth model rifle but in a B&C fullsize stock.

it is a shame that LH rifles aren't as available as they should be.

I'm sorta surprised the manufacturers haven't done what the clothing industry has done. sell the larger sizes at the same price as the smaller by having a slightly higher price to subsidize the cost of the extra material needed for the bigger sizes.

Yeah! Make those fkin' rightys subsidize my bad eye! lol

The one place where lefty rifles REALLY lack is lightweight stuff. Factory-wise, Tikka is about the only one who makes a lefty lightweight rifle, and they're still like 6.3-6.5lbs, so not exactly LIGHT compared to say a Kimber Hunter or Savage Lightweight thats nearly a pound lighter (or almost 2 pounds for a super lightweight rifle like some Kimbers). Hell, my bloody Axis weighs about the same as a tikka t3x lite, and thats what I'm trying to replace! lol

As a Chiappa owner, I recommend you to stay away from this brand. Mine shoots straight up to 40m. But the bulging cases, don't make trust the rifle. Discovered it after buying the dam thing.

Roll your money up into a little ball and light it on fire, you will be better off doing that vs buying a chiappa.
