I'm intrigued by this pistol but there's not a hell of a lot of reviews except a few vids on youtube.

Can anyone tell me something about how the recoil is? Is it all metal? Trigger pull weight? Flaws? Quality of the finish and pistol? Jam rate etc.?

For $3K+ is there any alternatives that "I'd rather spend $3000+ on (insert pistol name of your choice) because..."

Thanks I really appreciate the info and recommendation if there is any.

Get a cz tactical sport and spend 1500 on something else unless you shoot Ipsc open (tactical sport is a standard gun)

Unless you are top notch IPSC competitor, or absolutely must have CZ Czechmate...

+1 on CZ Tactical Sport in .40cal, and CZ Shadow in 9mm, as excellent alternatives to what you are looking for.
Could probably purchase both of them for the price of CZ Czechmate, and have money left over for ammo.

Nice guns that CZ offers to compere with the STI SCI Guns
It is all metal, it functions very well too.

But for the $$$ spent on one you could buy other 'RTR Raceguns'
9mm major? Forget reloading your brass. Just throw it away. You might get 1 more reload out of it but that is all.
Recoil is on par with a 38 super.
Fte ftf is usually from reloading a case just one time too many
Too much $$$ for a major 9 that could be better spent on an open 40 or 38 super imho

hard to beat the value of it, even if it didnt come with all the extras it comes with. gun, 4 mags, extra barrel, spare parts, cleaning kit all for $3k

compared to a trubore sti for the same price which comes with 1 or 2 mags ($135 a pop for svi mags from crafm)

Bill at the wood joynt has one.I didn't fire it, but it is very nice to handle, with a spectacular trigger.I believe he quit carrying them as cz jacked up the price about a grand.

The tactical.sport is also availiable in 9mm. Finding one is the hard part

I had it in my hands, but could not justify buying it, since I got CZ Shadow in 9mm already.

IMHO, Tactical Sport is perfect size for .40cal.

Good luck to OP whatever he gets, can't go wrong with either of these three pistols.

For the price, it's a well built and very comfortable gun. Cheaper than a STI due to getting four mags with it. It's an out of the box ready to go gun with a very nice trigger.
Capable of shooting both major and minor. Apparently some people have issues with their brass when loaded for 9major, i don't and can reload the brass 5 to 8 times before it cracks. You need to flare/bell your cases as little as possible to keep them alive longer.

The fact that it comes with 2 slide stops and 4 slide stop pins should give you an idea what to expect from this gun. I'm sure it'll be a lot like the P9's we ran in the early '90s. It'll function fine, shoot great and break in every major match. That is unless you put a brand new slide stop pin in for every major. So add into the cost of running this anywhere from 4-10 slide stops a year depending on how many big matches you shoot.

I handled one, and I can't say I like them for 3k, I'd rather get a SPS vista open gun. If they built one on the shadow frame I might take a liking to it.

What is an alternative for a dot, comp, SA gun near this price? I was under the impression that anything comparable would be around $5k.
