Brass case is 0.473 to 0.463

if bolt face was 0.473 the odd case would possibly stick and not extract

Should be no smaller than 0.473 but could be as large as .485 or so (clearance --- number can vary ) but not large enough that another case would fit from another caliber

rim of cartridge size is 0.473. but I need the actual bolt face diameter of Tikka T3 rifle in 308. I am looking for a donor rifle in 308, someone offered me an 6.5x55 I am just worried about the bolt face size not being the same as 6.5x55 base is slightly larger.

someone suggested to go measure one in gun store, gun store will open tomorrow. I dont want the seller keep waiting.

If anyone could help to measure their 308's that would be great. thanks!

A 6.5 should work just fine. The 6.5 case head is .480". Seven thou won't matter much.

All tikka t3 standard bolt faces and bolts are the same regardless of short or long.

Same bolt used in 270, 30-06, 6.5x55, 260, 7mm-08, 22-250, 308.
