Black friday sale on powders at cabelas. Nothing to call your mom, but okay prices on a few things. Free shipping too for orders >99$, but they say "Additional Freight Fee *
Will Apply" for orders containing powders. Anyone knows what/how much these fees are? Something like the outrageous "hazardous material fees" that Tenda charges on shipping powder or just a few buck?

They say a customer representative will contact me if I order powder, but I'm anti-social AF.

At one point I wanted to buy some Goex black powder online from Cabelas. When someone called me to confirm the purchase, the proposed delivery charges were through the roof!!! More than $100 if I recall correctly. I told them to forget it, and bought a BP substitute (Pyrodex) instead at a local gun store... Make sure to confirm the amount to be charged for "Hazardous Material Fees", they can be significant.

This made me LOL

Do yourself a favour and call Henry at Budget Shooter Supply. Got my 3 lb of powder to Ontario in about 4 business days for 15 bucks.
5 boxes of Bullets from Cabelas took 3 weeks although the shipping to the store was free.
Higginson's delivered my last order in under 24 hr via CP.

Agree with what others have said, forget Cabelas, shipping is insane, and go with Henry at Budget Shooter Supply for a great and reasonably priced experience.

It is a good deal if you are within driving distance to pick up.....they always put deals on this time of year. Last year I ordered online 8 lbs of 4350 and 4 lbs of Tightgroup....both were back ordered and I said I would pick up at store....however took over 6 months for them to tell me it was in so when it came in I cancelled order. Good price when on sale and if on hand when there....If you live not too far away.....order and pick up.......just don`t ask questions from people behind counter at Orillia store. I asked question a simple question about two different pistol powders and was informed that they could not discuss or advise on powders.......so maybe they should not have been behind counter lol. Love the fact we have Cableas though...Them and Bass Pro forced the pricing to be competitve!

I'm about 6 hours from the nearest cabelas, so that's a 12 hours round-trip. Not only that, I'd end up in Ontario and have to pay 13% taxes instead of the usual 5% when I order online.

I bought most of my reloading hardware from Henry, but I usually buy my powder from western metal, they have some of the lowest price and completely free shipping. Sometimes I buy from x-reload, but being in the same province means I have to pay QST, so I buy from them only when they're on sale.

Cabela's current sale was pretty good though. Less than 30$/£ for some powders.

I have been happy with the products, service and delivery times from Western Metal. That's probably always going to be your best bet, especially if you've been satisfied with the service.
I noticed that Western's regular prices on powders are within a dolar or two of (in some cases even less than) some of Cabela's current "sale" prices on the same powder.

Can't figure out what some people find cheap about Budget's powder. Either they get a special deal or just haven't checked around.

I order from Cabela’s if they are out of stock in-store or they don’t have what I want. In store pickup has no fees at all. No experience with home delivery.

If in-store pick-up was an option, it would mean they have a store in quebec, and then they would have to charge QST. So for us, store pick-up is actually a 10% fee.
