Just as the thread title says, I'm curious to hear what any of you gunnutz that are or have run them in your M&P's have to say about them? Getting an M&P delivered shortly and have been contemplating buying one, though I fully intend to shoot at least 500 rounds through mine stock initially to see if I like the factory trigger set up.

As a side note, anyone here with one of the M&P range and carry kits have anything to say about the holster and mag pouches that come with the kit??

Got it and love it (DCAEK kit)...made the gun soooo much better. I don't have the range and carry kit so can't comment on that part.

I don't have the Carry & range Kit, but I do have the holster and mag pouch that come with the kit. They are the Blade-Tech revolution series injection molded plastic models. You can buy them as a set on their own and the going price is around $50 for the pair.

They are not bad for the price and they are fine for most range use and will easily survive use in courses and even be fine for beginning competition. But that said, you will eventually want better gear;especially the holster. Bur for free they are a great deal. You can't go wrong.

Thanks all, I can certainly see myself buying one of the Apex kits at some point, I don't think I've seen a negative review yet. Depending on how I like the stock trigger will determine how soon I order the Apex(if at all, but seems likely with all the positive things said about it). Now if only my gun would hurry up and get here soon.....

One more question for you guys, is the only real difference between the Apex comp kit and the DCAEK the weight of the trigger pull? Seems both kits offer smoother pull, less creep/travel, and a more positive trigger reset but the comp has much lighter trigger pull? Do I pretty much have that right?

Correct, range shooting and competition type then the comp, nervous trigger or worried abit, then go carry & higher weight. Recently contemplated same scenario, however since just a range shooter I went with the comp for my M&Ps' waiting for them to arrive now is all.

I installed the DCAEK & RAM in an M&P9, and I can say that I am very impressed; every bold claim happy customers have made about his products have proven to be true. The relatively horrible OEM trigger that was handicapping an otherwise viable service pistol has been made obsolete. The Apex DCAEK'd M&P is a 'no-excuses' gun.* I highly recommend this kit!
* Cons - Banned from IPSC PD

They are serviceable, but they are not as rigid as Kydex, so it is a case of you get what you pay for.

In my M&P9 the weight dropped by about half a pound. The real improvement is in the feel, the dramatic reduction of over-travel, and the improved re-set.

The only BUT is the IPSC Production Division issue.

Order from Brownells or Dillon - there isn't a Canadian source that I'm aware of.

Dillon does not carry the FSS kit, only Brownells, and for that you need to print, fill out an export permit as it exceeds $100...

Can`t wait for that limit to be upped to $500 bucks, it`s silly.

Sorry to hijack this thread but, does anyone have it installed in the Pro Series? I'm just wondering if it would make any difference.

Yes it certainly does. However I had not ordered the RAM, just did as the takeup is there but much smooter, the reset is so faint and smooth it is hard to capture. I will install the RAM in the pro and the Vtac as soon as recieve as I personally like a more distinct rest. Otherwise IMO the Apex comp kit is definetely an improvement over stock even in Pro yes.
