Just as the title says, looking for some first hand opinions. Will likely be used on my 243 or 308 depending on how i like it. No hunting, just target at various distances. Also looking at the Nikon X1000 but the engage I can get for a fair amount cheaper. This scope would be replacing a fixed 10x bushnell or an old 6-24x40 Bausch and Lomb. Thanks in advance.

I don't have a 6-24 but I have a 4-16X44 and its a decent scope. My main issue is the lack of a zero stop, but for the price, it has been very reliable and repeatable. If I knit pick it, I would love to see a mil option opposed to MOA, but that's because I'm a simpleton when it comes to math. Turrets are clean and crisp, the tooless reset and locking feature is great as well and IMO not a terrible choice for the reticle!

Again, not the 6-24x but I have the 3-12×44 with the tool-less turrets. If you asked me a week ago, I would have had nothing bad to say about the Engage (except for no mrad option).

Second time out with it and the innards have blown loose and are rattling around inside. Total round count less than 20. Maybe it's an isolated case? I have yet to send it off for a warranty claim, so it may be a while before I hear anything from Bushnell.

Glad I did a search. I am just looking at the 3-12x44 myself and I liked the range and features for the price. Hard to know exactly where to put my money.

I've got a 4-16 and two 6-24's. No issues yet, glass is okay for the price. Keep in mind the 6-24 has 1/8moa clicks and 50moa total travel. Also the reticle is calibrated to moa at 20 power, with no precise alignment dot or detent.
