Just curious:

1. How much did it cost? (if you remember - is that with or without the sling plate?)
2. Did it include a new tube spring?
3. How long is it exactly mm's is better or inches (to the 16th)

Overall, are you happy with it?
Thanks

Overall I like mine a lot. It came with the red aluminum folower, mag spring and sling plate (which is integral part of the unit). I can switch the sling form either side to bottom quickly (great because I am ambidextrous), works much better than the Wilson or GG&G plates which are left or right handed an dhave to be switched out.
If there was one small gripe it would be that the design doesn't use the ball detent but instead uses a small allen head bolt to lock it down, so quick in field barrel removal will require the allen key. I keep mine loose and so far haven't had the cap unscrew, I check it every so often anyway.
I can get you the exact length tonight if you still need it but it fits perectly with the Dlask 14" barrel, it sticks out past the 12.5" though.
Cheers

Too bad it doesn't use the ball detent. I guess the newer Remington Expresses don't have the ball detent in them anyway, do they? Maybe they had to do that so it would work with every model out there.

I think it is more the design, the threaded setscrew locks the extension tube to the sling attachment ring (which is fixed) so it can't loosen off. It will work with both 870styles fine, and like I said mine seems to be holding tight without the setscrew.

Cheers

Older Remington shotguns have the ball detent within the barrel band. Remington now provides a magazine cap that locks onto the spring retaing cap by way of ridges inside the mag cap, so the detent isn't needed.

Personally, I prefer the ball detent in the barrel band. I think this makes more mechanical sense for a smoother ratcheting on and off of the mag cap. I've had barrels that didn't come with a detent. They did have a hole drilled in the barrel band, so it's very easy to fit a spring and detent to it. You have to replace the cap to an old style if this is the route you choose. The ridges are around the perimeter of the cap for the detent.

I think Dlask has a fine design there, with their three way sling attachment and all.

Now, if they made them out of steel, I bet they'd sell a whole bunch more.

Regards.

I finally got to see one today and the 1-shot is about 2.5" long :( Unfortunately that is about 1" past my 12.5" barrel. They do look well made.
