I'm looking at getting another Eotech and thinking about trying a different reticle. Just looking for some feedback on the 2 dot reticle.

I recently got one and while I haven't been out shooting with it I have looked through it a bunch with dryfire. At times I feel it is a bit busy but I can't see it slowing one down. Wish they had a switch to toggle the bdc like other companies allow. The sig 8t has it beat at that. I heavily considered the 8t over the eotech but the good availability of the eotech (have to order the sig), and the fact that I had not looked through an 8t, while having lots of previous eotech experience influenced me towards picking the eotech.

With modern magnifiers, I think having a bdc option on a red dot really helps even the gap between them and lpvos. I believe supersetca recently did a video on this and during the long-distance stage the red dot bdc plus vortex 6x magnifier were only around half a second slower? Eotech g45 5x might also make for a good pair.

I had one years ago on a Colt 6920. With a 3x magnifier it certainly helped extend it's range (never shot it past 500). I could see a 6x magnifier making it even more useful. Never found the extra dot to get in the way for closer in stuff.

How much more accurate is it than vs a one dot. I never shot my Eotech passed 100m. I used it for 3 gun matches all the time. I'm thinking of getting a Trijicon or another Eotech. Eotech is the cheapest way to go. My closest range is only 100m. I was mostly shooting at CQB multiple targets. My ACOG I have shot out to 650m and was able to hit a 6X6 gong with BH Mk262.

It just gives you another aiming point, really. For the load I was shooting, with the center dot zeroed at 200 the lower dot was 500 yds so it worked pretty well. For 300 and 400 I'd just hold 1/3 and 2/3 of the way between the 2 dots. Was easier (for me) to visualize instead of holding the one dot up above the target, especially when shooting at square/circles/anything not "man shaped" (where you can hold the neck and top of head, etc).
