Anyone have a Hogue stock?

I am looking at a new stock for my Savage, and I don't want to drop a ton of dough, so I was thinking either go wood with a Richards microfit stock, or synthetic with a Hogue.

Anyone have any experience with Hogue stocks? How is the quality, did you still need to get it bedded? Did it improve the accuracy of your rifle? Worth buying?

I had one on my .375 Ruger Alaskan

My opinion is that they are injection molded stocks with a rubbery coating.

They are okay if you can get one that has good contours. The Alaskan stock was too over emphasized for my tastes, although it sucked up recoil well.
