Anyone have a Marlin Model No17-G??

I recently bought a Marlin Model No17-G and I have heard DO NOT SHOOT these guns because of the lock-up. Does anyone have 1 of these gun that they use or have used? If there is a problem with the lock-up, does anyone know where I could find parts??

I think that is a real oldie. I have never heard of the 17-g til you mentioned it. This is what I found:

Ya there wasn't very much info on Google about this gun. I am just waiting for it to get here and I am going to do some tests on the action then have it sent to a gunsmith to have it checked out. I think for the first shots I am going to mount it to a table and fire it with a string just to be safe.
