Hi All,

Anyone have a Mossberg Maverick HS-12 12 Gauge 18.5″ or any experience with it?

I’ve been keeping an eye out for one on store websites. They’re inexpensive I think made in Turkey. Looking to get one to “plink” with at cottage range. Want to get a break action, I already have a pump 12 gauge. Don’t want Charles Daly. I don’t want to spend $500+ on a break unless I have to.

Mostly will be using 00 buck and slugs. Easy way to wipe old hard drives and laptops

Are mossberg all Turk made? Parts or service available in Canada?

Any thoughts?

So are Mossbergs generally made in Turkey? Or only the lower models? Since turkey made FAs generally don’t have a good reputation, are these mossbergs any more reliable than say the likes of Sullen Arms or Charles Daly?

Most Mossbergs are made in the USA. The Maverick O/U is Turkey from what I’ve read.

And I’ve personally seen Turkish guns stand up to thousands of rounds over years of range use and perform very well for the price.

Mossbergs ou guns are made in turkey. The pumps and autos are American

There's great Turkish makers there's good Turkish makers then there's Turkish makers that will make anything to any price point. It's the latter that hurts the Turkish industry
It's the same in Belgium then Spain then Italy. They all improved over time and lost the reputation of only making cheap junk.
World's apart in quality between akus and kral yet they're both Turkish.

They had at one point a toe safety block in them that would not allow them to shoot at lower angles. Not sure if they still do
Another option is find a baikal on intersurplus and introduce it to a hacksaw.
The safety block can be easily removed.
