Anyone have a Para LDA

I have owned, and used in Production, a stainless LDA Limited in 9MM.
For a 'double action only' type of trigger, it is quite intuitive and easy to shoot well...Once you get used to the large amout of movement required for each shot.For quick, upper close multiple shots, it didn't seem to slow me down, and on the longer, 'precision' shots, it actually made me take time to shoot more accurately.
The gun is 'combat' accurate, and has been reliable as hell for several 1000 rounds. With the heft of a full size, all steel 1911, the lack of recoil in 9MM
means it is a pussycat to shoot and gets you back on target quickly.
The overall quality on the Paras is on a par with stock Sprinfields and Colts.
Havining said all of this, the only advantage I can see in choosing the LDA over a classic SA would be for use in IPSC Production.

I have a Para LDA in .40;
I had shot a Glock previously, so transitioning to the longer trigger pull of the DA was not a problem. If you have not shot a Glock, or a firearm with a longer trigger reset, this will be where you will find the most amount time needed to learn the firearm.
Having said that, the trigger pull itself is one of the smoothest you will find, and everyone I know who tries the trigger says the same thing.
The quality and fit on mine has been excellent, and would recommend the firearm to anyone. It is as accurate as I can shoot, and has been very reliable (I shoot IPSC Production Division so it sees a fair number of rounds down range).
I chose the .40 as I have another firearm in .40 and wanted to not deal with 2 calibres, but if I had to do it again, I probably would have gone with the 9mm for IPSC. But would definately choose this gun again.

I've spent most of my handgun time with revolvers, so from the sound of it I'll be right at home with trigger. Sounds like I might have found what I'm looking for. My intention is to get into Duty Pistol (PPC) and some Production Class (IPSC), being able to do this with one gun would be nice, and if it's a Canadian product that's better!

Ian in Vic, the good and bad are my Para LDA was ready to go right out of the box. My opine is my Para 12 LDA would make a fine house gun. Why? When loaded it is too heavy for carry and my friends feel it has a snappy recoil. Yes, mine is a restricted handgun in Canada. Regards, Richard

I have a Para LDA chambered in 40 S&W.Like the others have mentioned the trigger takes some getting used to.I personally found it very irritating and that the trigger pull makes the shooter more prone to snatching.The result was my shots were all hitting low and left.After putting about 500 rounds through it I still have not mastered it.Probably end up trading for something else.
Note:First time on the range with it I was getting stoppages like crazy.I ended up having to polish the feed ramp to fix the problem.Over all for 1600.00 Can I am not overly impressed.
