Anyone have an FNS-9? Opinions wanted.

IMO FNS9/40 are the best kept secrets of the polymer striker pistol world.

I have 3 9mms and 2 40s. The 40s seem a tad more accurate. The 9s are just as accurate and reliable as my G17RTF2. But FNS ergonomics are way better for me. If you like the 1911, the FNS is your hi cap polymer striker equivalent in terms of ergos.

FNS-9 is my first and only pistol so far. After doing some research it seemed like a steal when they went on sale at my local dealer for $520 last year. I am quite happy with it.

It's a superb gun for the price. I have 3 friends who own them. I've shot them many times. I've never seen a non- ammo related problem with any of them.
The trigger is actually pretty good for a polymer striker gun. Between a Glock and Canik. Clear reset.

Only issues are hard to find mags and very aggressive checkering that some may find too sharp.
And it has metal mags!

Great pistol, my wife and I both have the long slide, both have over 20 thousand rounds thru them, both look brand new. Fantastic build quality, reliablity and accuracy. As Still alive mentioned, the trigger is pretty good, there are better, but a great audible and tactile reset make it a very nice pistol to shoot. I recommend them often, and think they would be far more popular if FN gave a #### about the civilian market lol, but they really don't promote the gun at all

That's awesome, thanks everyone. Can't wait to get mine. And yeah I do love the 1911, and will be probably using the flat backstrap for the grip if it's like the 1911 as I have heard it was.

I'm a little late to the party!

I own 2, with one being a long slide.

As one of the other members have stated, there are one of the best kept secrets in polymer striker fire handguns; they are completely underrated and overlooked.

They shoot straight and flat. Very accurate and super reliable.

At the time I traded my Sig P320 for an AR and needed another pistol to replace it. I had my eyes, from the start, set on a FNS9, but no one had them in stock (like 1.5+ years ago). In November 2018, I came across a sale at Wanstalls for the FNS9 for $499; Yahtzeeeee.

Getting the thing in hand and shooting it was incredible. I shot it waayyy better that I could shoot my Sig P320. Since then I picked up a long slide FNS9 from a guy on GGN, and found the FN 509 at Bulls Eye London on sale for $503. I think I have converted to FN hahahah. I thought I was going to be a Sig guy lol

Enjoy your new pistol!!!
