Anyone have an SR15?

I tried out my SR15 with a sling the other day and found that when I attached the QD sling mount to the reciever attachment point it got in the way when I thumbed the selector from safe to fire. The QD was nearly touching the selector when on safe. Am I doing something weird, or has anyone else run into this?

I haven't tried the sling on my SR15 yet but I did noticed to same thing when the QD sling mount is on the receiver.
