Anyone have experience with Norma's 7.5x55 Swiss in a K31?

The recent thread about K11/K31 and ammo availability got me thinking that it would be worth asking here if anyone has used the Norma 7.5x55 180gr soft point Oryx load in their K31?

Specifically, how have you found the accuracy (in relation to GP11) and have you taken any game (and if so, what species) with the Norma load?

I have lots of 7.5x55 brass that I've been reloading, but could not pass up on picking up 120 rds of the Norma load for $1.25/rd :) Unfortunately, I won't be hitting the range for a while to try it out.

Good price.
No complaints about Norma in any caliber I ever tried. Except price.

Tried 7.5x55 Norma in of all things in a friend's single shot Swiss Martini action HB target rifle with adjustable blade rear leaf target sights, thumb rest, offhand wooden hand rest, double set triggers etc.... Easily able to call my shots at 300m.

Isn't Martini more of a black powder action (late 1800's) and thus questionable for such a high pressure smokeless load?

Not if put together by a good gunsmith.
Most 7.5 versions were made for the weaker GP90 Swiss ammo, but there are some later ones were the barrel and chamber area were massive that easily handles the 7.5x55 GP11 rounds. We are taking about a 15lb rifle.

Quite a few Martini .303 rifles around also

One I shot was very close to this one in 7.5x55.

Some 7.5x55 version can be quite nice.

You may want to be careful with using Norma loads in that 1911.

The Norma stuff is pretty hot.

I'm not sure about the pressure limits on the 1911 but it seems to handle GP11 pretty well.

I had a box of Norma that I scooped at a gun show. I shot it in the K31 and it was pretty snappy in comparison to the GP11.

There are far more knowledgeable people than I on the pressure limits on the 1911. Maybe they can chime in.

Why don't you order a case of GP11 from Ammosource SFRC on the banners????

I bought a few boxes of the Norma ammo for hunting purposes. I also shoot GP11.
I don't know if it's just my K31, but the accuracy of the Norma ammunition was as good, if not better than the GP11. That being said, I don't have a scope on my K31, and I have only shot at 50 and 100 yards, so I can't say how it performs at longer ranges.
I haven't shot any game with the Norma stuff (yet, hopefully next fall).

Found myself a hunting store in the region to order me some of the 7.5x55 norma I should be getting in it a few weeks il keep you guys update on the results of my tests

Also in theory any store who uses fn sports as a distributer should be able to get a hold of the Norma the list of Canadian stores is on the fn sport site

I have a box...Haven't fired it yet though. Prvi Partizan is a decent price with re loadable brass although I find it to be loaded fairly mildly in comparison to GP11
