Hi All

Has anyone been using the Magwedge kwik rail that allows you to use stripper clips?
http://magwedge.com/products/rifle-accessories/sks-tactical-kwikrail/

My eyes seem to be losing power on a weekly basis and I am thinking about optics or red dot on the sks that still allows you to use stripper clips.

Want to be able to change back to the original condition if needed so don't want any system that requires the use of a drill.

Thanks
Del

That seems entirely useless to me. Only good to mount a red dot, which is better done with a front sight rail as opposed to a full length rail.

I will probably just use a red dot with it, would love to just use a rear sight mount, I have tried the Matador SKS mount purchased from HI-cal but I was lucky they told me to tape the back of the red dot to see were the rounds eject first, otherwise my red dot would have been toast, sks forward ejects straight into anything mounted there.

Just to clarify here, the whole point of the Gen3 rail is versatility ... you can mount a red dot or short scope and still use stripper clips or you can cover the gap in the rail using the insert rail and go to a larger optic instead.

The Gen3 feedback has been very positive and we have many pleased customers. Like any product, its good to understand its purpose before buying.

Thanks for the info MagWedge.

With the feedback you have received about the product how close does it return to zero when used with one of your kwikpins? I use the term return to zero loosely knowing the SKS can have a bit of a larger grouping size :)

I also have one of those timbersmith thumbhole stocks I don't suppose you know if the rail on the left would hit the stock, wondering if stock would need to be modified.

The rail will hold zero ... I suspect the biggest challenge is holding the rifle on target consistently given the fact that your cheek weld will change when you add a rail.

I suspect the timbersmith may need a small amount carved away to avoid contact with the rail's support bracket, maybe 2mm of material.
