Looking to get a little bit of feedback. Toying with the idea of picking it up for some plinking. Don't see much talk about it and haven't seen any on the EE. I like the model and price point.
Thanks for any feedback

Hey Danny~not really a direct answer to your question, but I was having the same dilemma about a year ago and the lack of reports on the gun had me considering the options. Ended-up with a Marlin 917 Heavy barrel, and the gun is a shooter. Flash ahead about a year...and I considered the Ruger American for my next .22 and ended-up getting a CZ instead. Very glad I did. Like most guys here, allot of makes in the safe have come and gone and increasingly...I think I'm having a hard time suggesting anything other than CZ for a bolt gun. I do like the look/value of the RAR, and have had a .22 compact in my hands about 5 times and felt the debit card tingling...but just haven't taken the plunge. Probably will one day.

Anyhow...there are no shortage of CZ fans on this (or any) site, but I guess I'd urge you to consider one if you haven't already. I used to have a 452 Varmint in 17HMR and it was the most accurate rimfire I've ever owned~hands-down. It's the only gun I really regret selling. You can buy them in standard, or varmint-weight barrels. Maybe a 452 American in 17HMR would be a good fit..?

I have 2 compacts RAR , one in 22 lr, that will shoot 10 rds of blazer ammo into an inch at 100yds. The 22 mag will shot within an inch at 100yds with winchester supreme 30gr . My 17hmr is the fullsize model , sighted it in and went gopher shooting this summer , worked really well. Need to spend time with this one at the bench.

I have owned and shot CZ 17HMR , they shot very well, the first Marlin I owned was one of the best. The 2 savages I owned were so,so.

I highly recommend the Ruger American in any caliber. Only issue I have is that they are not available with wood stock in Canada yet.

By the way the only readily available CZ 17 HMR available are the Model 455, they are not the rifle the 453 or 452 are.
