Anyone have rifle sights added to a 14” barrel?

So I’m still working to perfect my shotgun setup. For me the bead sight, even with a big dot, is too low when using a MESA LEO stock adapter.

I will be mounted a red dot optic but want irons for backup.

I’ve considered:
Aridus rear with Trijicon front but I think it’ll be too low still and is Aimpoint bolt pattern only
Vang Comp front and rear with rail section but cost is much higher for this setup
Barrel mounted iron sights, can get 14” with these sights preinstalled but it’s a mod choke and I need cylinder bore to run flares and bear bangers

So I’m wondering if I should get sights added to my 14” barrel or get a 14” barrel and get it setup for chokes and just use the cylinder choke...

Thoughts? Suggestions?

So you have a 14” with a fixed mod choke already? If I had that I’d get it threaded for chokes and have the rifle sights added, then you’ll have great sights and be able to swap any Rem choke in that fits the application. That would be an awesome combo, I love those rifle sights and a 14” barrel is a great length.

Thanks, my barrel is a 14” with cylinder choke already so for all the loads I need to run this barrel is already good to go other than the rifle sights. Just not sure who in Canada might carry and/or install these sights. I am after the Trijicon rifle sights not the stock Remington rifle sights.

I bought Wilson Combat/Scattergun Tech sights for mine with the rear ghost ring . I also purchased the fixture from them for 30 bucks to center the two holes in the receiver to mount the rear sight . Did the job and resold the fixture for 30 bucks .

Just send it to Casey at Tac Ord. He will silver solder the sights on. Go with the Scattergun Technology sights. Casey can also Van Comp the barrel if you like. The man builds master pieces.

They look pretty tall. BTW the one in these pics is only $191 USD. For $235 USD I assume you are getting the Trijicon sights?

Where can one order a set of those? I know where to get the fiber optic inserts but where can you get the bases, I might have to put a set on my 14” nea barrel.

You need the height when your using the Mesa tactical stock adapters, the LEO stock drops a bit but it’s not enough for a bead or pedestal sight like on Rem barrels.

The ones in the pictures above are OEM Remington sights (installed at the factory). Remington offers a variety of different sight options on the 14" 870P barrels.

I was looking to bring one in from the US. $235USD plus all the export/import fees is what it’s looking like.

Just not sure the sights will be high enough for a MESA LEO adapter setup. My raised pedestal front sight with big dot sure isn’t.

They are pretty tall. Here's a couple more pic to reference.

I had TacOrd install front sights on my 14" Mossberg barrel. I bought Mossberg 590A1 sights which I sent with the barrel for TacOrd to install as well as doing the VangComp treatment. Keep in mind that you will have to have the barrel Cerakoted or reParked after the installation of sights.
