I know they were made, anyone have a vz58 bayo with actual wood, not beaver barf? Put up an EE ad, but have little hope. Can the beaver barf's handle be customized to wood? I've never seen one in person, wondering if the handle's material is screwed or riveted in.

This guy states he got his in an "armorer's kit":

The wood bayonets are the Mark I generation and were replaced later by the plastic ones. They are riveted like the plastic ones. They are kicking around and like you mentioned most were in the "Armorer Kits" that were sold awhile ago,...

I have 3 wooden bayo handles for sale .

note: not the bayo , just the handle , you'll have to rivet it together .

comes in light , medium and dark .

its the one piece type , which means the metal of the bayo do not go all the way to the back of the handle .

I will post pic tomorrow.

Looks like I'm buying bayonets for my surplus rifles... going to bump this to see if anyone has a wooden VZ58 bayonet they want to get rid of.

It's a pretty useless item in the grand scheme of things, but want to buy one for sh!ts and giggles.

A lot of what we buy could be considered useless in the eyes of others who don't share the passion. There's a bayonet lug on the rifle for a reason so why not complete the kit even if you don't plan on engaging in close quarters combat. Good luck on your search.
