Y'all, I have been using frontier (copper plated) bullets in 9mm and .45 for many years now. I recently have had a problem with the 9mm 124g fp bullets. It seems the copper jacket (which should be bonded to the lead) is separating around where the crimp is thus making a second hole in my targets at close range. I mean the top of the projectile outer case is perfectly separated....
I thought it my be my crimp (roll) would be too tight, but this shouldn't affect a bonded bullets like frontier.
Also, if this matters I'm now using a Glock 34 instead of my 17 (where this problem never arised).
If anyone has had this happen, let me know as I will be contacting frontier to ask for a refund.
Unfortunately I have about 3K loaded and cannot trust them in a match due to the duel projectiles.
Please advise,
