Anyone here familiar with Tikka M695?

I just bought a Tikka M695 7mm Rem Magnum from a gentleman who's too old to use it and I was wondering if anyone here knows how much they go for and if you are aware of any sites with technical info like maintenance, assembly, upgrades, etc.

What is your opinion about this gun in general?

I intend to use it for hunting big game but I can see myself going to the range more often than hunting.

The gun came with 40 bullets, 4-9x40 Bushnell scope, sling, trigger lock, and plastic (foam padded) case.

They are the pre T3 Tikka's, very similar rifles actually so anything one says about the T3 would be applicable for the 695's, look at the T3 prices for an idea of cost. They are a good solid, accurate gun, get a spare mag because they tend to get lost.

I had a 595 in 308 and one in 22-250. Same gun as yours, just the short action version. Very well made and accurate rifles. Mine both easily shot sub MOA with hand loaded hunting rounds, the 308 really liked 180 partitions, and the 22-250 put 55 vmax into little tiny groups all day long.

I don't know much about upgrades for these rifles, but I am sure that with enough research and money thrown at it you could get pretty much anything you want for it.
 
I sold my stainless M695 ,in 7RM with synthectic stock last year for $700.
Very good rifle , never had any problems with it.
Manulas are at the Tikka site under old models - Whitetail Hunter.
 
I have too admit When I was 14 my dad bought me a tikka m695 7mm mag and it is one of the best rifles I have ever shot, since then I have owned several t3s, sako75 and weatherbys and I always go back to the old tikka, it shoots awsome, i also just picked up another 7mm m695 synthetic for my son now and a 300 wm tikka off my uncle same m695. I might be byest but tikka quality isnt anywhere close to what it use to be like, I would highly recomend a m695 to anyone, just dont loose the clip they want a fortune for them

I have a 595 in 223 I got new. Most accurate rig I've got, gun will literally hit yellowjackets that land on my targets on sunny days (100yds). One thing I do have to do when I store it is loosen the main front stock screw and wedge a piece of carboard in between the barrel and wood stock then re-tighten. Over time the stock will warp and touch the barrel if I don't do that and it can sure throw of it accuracy. Excellent gun, smooth bolt, worth every cent I paid for it. Where they kept the cost down was the (lack of) finish on wood stock.
