If you do...

Could you please see if the bolts are identical between the two carbines; if they are not what is different?

I had an idea that one could buy the .40S&W version, then have a 9x19 barrel made for it and just get new magazines and presto! - dual caliber CX4 Storm.

I guess the most critical area to check would be where the extractor grabs onto the brass... is this area the same between both calibers? If not, is it just the "claw" that is different or is the bolt actually cut differently?

Any replies appreciated. :)

You'd be swapping bolts too. 9mm and .40 cal are obviously different cartridges. The .40 bolt would just be pushing a 9mm round into the chamber and leaving it there. It could not possibly pick up and extract that brass. There also may be other differences that prevent the two from working in the same gun. Maybe. It is not that easy I'm afraid.

Plus, if the gun was so easily able to change calibers, they would have marketed it that way. They're sharp cookies those Italians!
