anyone here tried out the new Ruger Mark IV?

Its on my radar too. Saw a nice one yesterday at The Shooting Center $999. for the Stainless Hunter 6 inch with fluted barrel. Bit much. Should be a few more around soon.

Nice finish, same old build quality. Now the best feature, the takedown button to which Ruger made it to the top of this pistol in its class. Cons? None except for maybe non-Ruger fans who hates the angle of the grip. But this is where Ruger differs from the rest of .22 semi-autos. They stayed with the traditional Ruger design. Yes, they copied the NAMBU grip profile but they made refinements though the years of production. If they can improve the rear sight, I will give them a 10. And maybe a retrofit kit (frame and takedown button) that will fit older Mk I - III models, that will turn current owners into upgrade frenzy. Third party kit? It doesn't matter!

Besides the takedown button is there anything different between the Mark IV vs I to III? Especially for the Mark IV 22/45 Lite? I already got 2 MarkIII 22/45 so I am really not too sure about ever getting a Mark IV. To be honest now I got used to the Mark III takedown it is such a breeze I even regret every buying that strip kit from Majestic Arms... So may be no Mark IV for me unless I found some new feature I can't resist... may be a Mark V in the future? ;)

I've got one, it's a great little pistol. Other than the take down, there's not much different than the Mark III.
If you already own a Mark III , I don't think there is any point in upgrading to a IV. Unless you've got some money burning a hole in your pocket.

I handled one in the store. I didn't like the weak side safety as it dug into the base of my index finger. When I mentioned it to the guy working the counter, he replied that he had the same experience. As much as I hate taking apart (and moreso putting back together) my Mark III I think I will stick with it.

I had the same issue but it comes with the part to remove the weak side safety. It's easy to remove. Problem solved.
