Anyone here use a Kimber for IPSC? I'm move to standard division and STI Tang don't

Hi I was wondering if anyone has shot the Kimber Stainless Target II in IPSC? I don't think you can swap the mag release over though. I would really like to get the STI Edge but I'm a southpaw and I don't think you can switch the mag release over to the right side. Same goes for the Tangfolio line of handguns.

search for 1911 ambi mag release. It's a drop in modification.

Or you could use your index finger. Just get a lighter spring for the mag release.

I'm a lefty and use the left index finger mag drop. It works extremely well, so I wouldn't waste my cash on an ambi mag release for a 1911. I have an Edge as well as other 1911's.

a friend had a right side mag release, he switched back to a left side one because it worked better for him

Springfield armory have the same amount of mim parts as kimber. Funny that you didn't mention that.

I shot a kimber stainless 2 my first season and a half of IPSC. Only switched to a Trojan halfway through last year. No specific reason for the switch but I do prefer the Trojan.

I think MIM is an urban legend. I've read more posts on MIM and comments from S&W themselves to make me think it's perhaps more an attitude toward back in the day?
