Anyone with good hearing still use something to boost there hearing when out hunting?

Every year I'm blown away with how quiet deer are

You too, huh?

I remember going grouse hunting as a young kid and always wondering why Dad would keep walking down the trail, oblivious to the sound of a ruffie clucking in alarm a few yards back in the bush.

Now I find myself wondering what's happened to the birds over the last few years -- it's been awhile since I heard any clucking myself...

Yup, the result of way too much shooting without hearing protection has damaged my hearing ( and most of the people posting on this site, they just don't realize it!) so Now I often hunt with electronic muffs, which amplify sounds and electronically muffle gunshots. great for deer stands and duck blinds. I wear vented baffle plugs when stalking. Browning makes a good pair of muffs, some others are not so good like the Remington. look for comfort, sturdy construction, and separate controls for each ear. Foam covered microphones are a must to reduce wind noise. Sturdy construction is important too, unfortunately the Brownings are good in all respects but the headbands are attached to the ear muffs with a cheap little plastic tit that breaks easily.

What?
I have one that was intended to listen to the TV at low volume. It picks up too many sounds like wind and clothing contact. It was not even taken out of the bag last season.
