Anyone in Canada sell .380 Revolver ammo

Trade Ex used to a while back, had remanufactured ammo from centaure. Best bet with that caliber is to load it yourself if possible. I had to go that route as my Enfield No2 Mk1 is my primary competition gun

38 S&W is hard to find but cheap to load for, look at X-reload, you will need to get starline brass, HP-38 powder, 145gr 0.361 bullets, dies and primers.

The 0.380 revolver was a designation that was a heavier bullet, either 170gr metal case or 200gr lead, I have not seen any of that except in a cabinet to be sold as a collector piece.

WT, slug the bore of your revolver. 38 S&W has .358 diameter bullets.

Some pistols, usually from the UK might have .380 diameter bores and require hard to come by, unless you cast your own, .380 diameter bullets.

If you were closer, I would suggest that you get in touch with Selin's Gunshop in Vernon, BC. They had quite a bit of it the last time I was in there.

Nominal diameter for .38 SW is .361". Unless his gun is an antique it's likely not going to be .380" as the heeled bullet cartridge was changed pretty quickly.

The 38 S&W was a 0.361 bullet, many of the American guns, S&W and Colt will shoot well with a 0.358 bullet from what I have been told but I have not been able to test it yet. The 0.358 hard cast wad cutter will not fall down the bore of the 38 S&W chambered S&W revolver, so it should work.

You're right but I don't know of anyone that has loaded 361 bullets into those cases for decades.

By the way, please don't tell my S&W Victory that it's bore (.358) is to small, or the three spare barrels I have and still available at Tradex and Intersurplus they are the wrong diameter.

I have heard mixed things.

I got 0.361 for my 38 S&W Smith but that was because I bought everything before the gun actually showed up. If the wad cutters work well I can get them a lot cheaper and easier than 0.361.

I think there is probably a wide range of barrels for those guns, the American WWII ones being 0.358 just not 38 Special chambers. The old American ones are probably larger, the old top breaks and such. Anything British and military you can almost be sure that there will be an acceptable range of bore diameters, chamber sizes, etc, ha ha.

How does your victory shoot with a 0.358? My Smith is a 6in, have not really shot it for anything more than having fun at this point.

I need to try some .358 lead in my smith m&p. .361 shoot really well, but seems to lead the forcing cone up more than I think it should
