hi everyone,
i live in Pickering 20 mins out of Toronto: im currently waiting on my Pal and Rpal in the mail. but was wondering where a decent place would be to target shoot at. ive been looking at alot of ranges but the whole membership thing seems to only be invite only. any suggestions and can anyone clear up the whole target shooting on crown land?

Silverdale Gun Club allows day pass. Triggers and Bows in Brantford has a range with 24 hr access for members. Urban Tactical in Brantford offers day passes and memberships Target Sports in Gormley offers memberships too.

I'm near Toronto, too. I drive to Silverdale in St. Ann's to shoot as a non-member. The travel time, distance, $20 guest fee, and limited guest hours help me regulate the cost of the hobby. If I was a member of a range close to me, I'd spend too much time there and too much money on ammunition.

Crown land:
- Use this post to find "General Use" crown land near-ish you: http://www.canadiangunnutz.com/foru...19-How-To-Find-Ontario-Crown-Land-to-Shoot-On
- Leave your Rs at home, bring any NR you want. Bring your PAL.
- Bring whatever you want to shoot (paper targets, watermelons, pumpkins, pop bottles, etc)
- Consider setting up your targets before getting your firearms out, as a precaution against a CO thinking you're a hunter (without a license). I wouldn't bother but YMMV
- If you can find a backstop = perfect. Otherwise mind what's beyond your target...the land is general use so non-shooters might be there doing non-shooting (quiet) things so their presence might not be obvious
- Shoot
- Clean up after yourself (paper targets, bottles, casings, etc). The obliterated fruit can stay
