Just as the title says, looking for someone in the Lloydminster Alberta area that has a barrel vice that can switch a barrel for me? Simply want to pull one off, and put another one on. If anyone knows someone in the area with a GOOD vice that won't mark a barrel up, please PM me. Thanks!

Its a bolt action rifle. The hammer wrench will go around the receiver and the barrel goes in the barrel vice. It is a very simple procedure, in fact the barrel I am putting back on this receiver has been on this receiver before, so head space is not an issue. I simply am looking for someone local who has a wrench & a vice to do this as I don't want to send rifle to a gunsmith if I can find someone local to do it for me!

If you don't want to ante up the make and model, why not just grab a couple pipe wrenches and do it yourself?

Really. Make and model. Barrel size/contour, maybe, too. Barrel vices and action wrenches are made in different sizes. If you want someone to speak up, it'll be a lot easier for them, if you put up a bit of info.

It'll help the few guys out there that have the tools, to decide whether their tools will or might work for what you need.

Cheers

Sako M995 MC Barrel. When it was changed, the vice the guy used had different size clamping rings for different barrel contours & the hammer wrench was universal fit. I was just under the impression that all vices are like this, didn't think the action and barrel contour was a big issue. It's not that I didn't want to post make model & BC, I just thought it was not an issue.

changed barrels hundreds of times Rems Mausers Sakos Winchesters.
Never used an external clamp on the action Too Much chance to mark it up.
Only have internal wrenches and clamp on the barrel. No wrench for a 995 though.
Why not take it back to Ted he certainly has the tools??
