I bought 2 of those beauties from CSC, rack grade, both came with muzzle cover and sling, no cracks, no splitted charging plastics, just nice, the second one (on my rack, has a super nice wood). I would say very good ++ condition. The bluing on the receiver was fading, very little pitting on one, so I gave them both a cold reblue of the receiver and butt.

Went to the range today with one, made in 1905, the sights start at 300 m, so I aimed at the bottom of the target and got 3 inch groups with the PPU ammo they are selling. I am planning on reloading, haven't made up my mind yet on the bullets, Sierra would be nice but they are pricey.

Tried 300 m (what the heck I thought) but apparently nobody seems to shoot 300 m at my range, so a bush was in my sight when I tried to find the perfect position, okay, the sun in my eyes it is. Didn't hit anything at 300 m but I intend to change this another day.

The action worked smooth during the 26 rounds I shot, no overheat issues, my wife shot as well, she thought it is a heavy gun which is true. She generally prefers handguns which I understand, she is a rather small girl.

There is a guy on youtube who shoots crap at 100m compared to me but hit the gong at 300 almost every time, so I blame it on the above mentioned.

Nice rifle! I started my Swiss collecting with a IG 96/11 as well. I can’t speak for your rifle but I know every one I have used with GP-11 ammo has been accurate and shot straight, you just need to know the hold over for the ranges below 300m (I found it was a foot below the aim point at 100m, your experience may vary).

I was never happy with the factory PPU ammo for accuracy. Use their brass though.
168-175gr bullets for reloads. Berger 175VLD for best accuracy but $$$. Have not tried Match kings.
Hornady , Sierra, Nosler ok in that weight range.

Chronograph results.

The PPU is Boxer primed, so I bought it. Will start reloading after I am through 100 rounds. Probably be going for the Sierra Match King 175 grain, thanks for the info and data. No more GP11 anywhere to be found at this time from dealers who can ship. Kinda like the Barnaul for the SKS.

I have this one in 22 lr
