I'm looking at a used lever action Mossberg 472 in 30-30. From what I can find on the net, they were produced in the 70s to compete with Marlin and Winchester, both as name-brand and house-manufactured guns (made by Mossberg but labelled for another company/store/etc). Ultimately, it appears this rifle's days were short-lived, though Numrich (and others) sell all kinds of parts.
Anyone know about these guns? Anyone have one? How do they shoot? Is it a lemon or a good, general purpose rifle? Thanks for any and all inout.
