Just imagine, this was here in the Valley.

People have been saying it for years but the Department of Natural Resources has been reluctant to confirm whether cougars live in NS........... big cat!

Wow, that's a BIG kitty!

here's what they say.. Looks kinda stuffed, why no claws, I would push them out.. Oh and I don't think he can just keep it, if by chance its real:D

How about a stroll in the woods???

See what's been roaming the neighbourhood, north of Kentville Nova Scotia. Wow this is some cat! Look at what James Snipe hit with his car on Northfield Road. The lion was still alive but unable to move, so our neighbour called DNR and they came and put him down. A land owner had seen this one a week before dragging off a 320 lb. steer. His neighbour is an amateur taxidermist and he's going to stuff him. This one weighed 260 lbs. While most? Mature male mountain lions weigh 80 to 150 lbs. We had no idea they still roamed around here!

I've seen those pics before and they were said to be from Castlegar, BC! The record for cats is like around 230 lbs or so. Something smells real fishy about this whole thing. By the way are those Elk antlers in the background? Many Elk out that way?

BS on this one. Look to the right of the 2nd pic to the right of the orange pole. There is an elk antler there. The first pic shows a fairly impressive collection of anlters in the back room, including mulie antlers. These pics were taken in the West.

I don't know about that picture, but it is one BIG cat.

A friend saw a cougar in his back yard (rural with just bush behind him). north of Barrie, Ontario. He is very credible.

I have seen that pic before
once it was killed at nootka island,
once it was killed at castlegar b.c.
and I`ve also seen it on an american hound dog site and it was killed down there
It is one big cougar no matter where it came from

As everyone mentioned, the photo is BS, but I started to think about how East they have roamed. I have seen them in Saskatchewan, and probable prints in MB and kind of figured that was about it. Then I checked wiki:
"On April 14, 2008 police shot and killed a cougar on the north side of Chicago, Illinois. DNA tests were consistent with cougars from the Black Hills. Less than one year later, on March 5, 2009, a cougar was photographed and unsuccessfully tranquilized by state wildlife biologists in a tree near Spooner, Wisconsin in the northwestern part of the state." Certainly not NS, but way further East then I had thought.

My father back home in NS told me a couple weeks back that one was killed by a car out there just recently, IIRC the bridgewater area. Maybe he was referring to this "story". That said, there has been one seen locally (Aylesford area) where my dad lives over the last couple years (I actually now of one of the fellow's who saw this one) and he and I both saw one in September 2007 crossing a Fire Road in Lake Paul. Not as big as that brute though, but an eye opener.
Matt
P.S. Here is an article I just found about the hoax: http://thechronicleherald.ca/NovaScotia/1118930.html
According to this, researchers have confirmed their presence in Southern NB, only a few hours land drive from home, but they are skeptical they could be in NS????
