Cribbage pins, that (IIRC) I was told were made from firing pins. I suspect Brit (since it was done by a Brit Armourer, circa the 1970s). I was half thinking a Sterling etc, with some beveling obviously, but wondered if they looked familiar to anyone.

I suspect they are shottie pins, he spoke of fixing officers personal shotguns etc, but was wondering if they fit anything military.

If you were thinking Sterling 'SMG' then they had a fixed firing pin. I dont recall ever being told that the fixed firing pin could be replaced as a separate component. I presumed if it was damaged (ie chipped etc) the entire bolt was replaced....

Horrifyingly
LOL, I would have though he might have left the pins a little longer then. Although he probably knew of some floating around somewhere. He had some interesting stories of things being buried, and others being pushed out of planes over the Indian Ocean. Still, no Tommy Gun stories I recall.
