Anyone know what this Charleville marking is?

I’ve seen this on a couple 1777 style muskets, and I am curious as to what it is. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Merry Christmas

Sorry, this is NOT a Charleville.
1777 lock plates are pointed at back, NOT ROUND!
Please post a pic of the whole lock for a better identification.
Thanks

Hello! Thanks for your reply!

At the moment, I am just curious about the marking on the lock plate there. The other musket I found this stamping on is most certainly a 1777, and I believe this example here in the posting to be a later Belgian copy of a charleville. I can add some additional pictures shortly, I am just away from my computer at the moment l.

Thanks!

I agree. A pic of the whole lock and a pic of the whole gun from both sides, and a top and bottom side view. Otherwise this post is completely useless.

Again, apologies, I have been away from my computer, but I have gathered these images together at this link here: https://imgur.com/a/IoQS03W . Sadly, I do not have direct access to either musket, as I am in fact looking to gather all I can about them before deciding on my next purchase. Hopefully these images will shed any light you all have. Keep in mind there are two different firearms in the linked gallery. At the time of original posting, I confused the markings on each lock as being overly similar, but upon further examination and gathering of pictures, it is clear that that is not the case. The 1777 appears to have an egyptian(?) stamping, while the marking on what is described as a 1777/1822 is still completely unknown to me, as well as the unit marking.

Thanks kindly,

Dylan

Thank you very much, this is all starting to come together! Any idea of the unit markings? I can not decipher the ”F.A.B.” at all, and it is confusing me above anything else with this Belgian conversion.

Thanks!

Dylan
