I can't seem to find one anywhere except the sport one in black. I like the wood furniture one instead. Anyone also know if I can swap the wood furniture on the sport black one that way I can't just buy that one

hey, I'm pretty new around here, and I'm no expert, but I've been looking into the vz58 platform a lot lately and you're right: no one seems to have the wood furniture models in stock these days. Probably lots of reasons for that, but I know you can get replacement furniture kits from places like Corwin Arms and swap it out with relative ease. It's not cheap, but it's out there:

I could be wrong but I don't ever remember seeing the VZ sold with real wood .
I know the CZ Canadian came with it . Also you can buy some pretty nice sets of wood furniture from a variety of sources . Just recently Corwin had some for sale at a really reasonable price .
My CZ came with the " beaver barf " furniture .

Yeah that what I thought. Looks like I'll probably buy the sport one that comes in all black and get the wood furniture. I just wasn't sure if I was able to swap them for that model cuz I always see the wood furniture for cz858 or vz58 but nothing
about if the black version is interchangeable too.. anyone recommend the .223 or 7.62 and why?. Am a newbie so thanks for all the help.

NEVER get the 223. If you spend about 5 minutes looking through the forums, you will find thread after thread about problems regarding it. My belief is that the rifle was designed for the 762x39 round and that it should stay that way

My .223/5.56 NR works just fine. Would never sell it.

In addition:
CSA has found the reason for bolt failure in some of the vz58.

I have to give this company some credit. At least they try to resolve the problem, and the rifle does have a 5 year warranty.

Getting warranty work was a problem in Canada. Hopefully that has been resolved.

Also, I have emailed CSA with questions, and they have always got back to me shortly after.
