I absolutely love a nice piece of Walnut or fancy other wood on a rifle!! While I have a couple of synthetic stocked rifles, they are strictly utilitarian, and are as ugly as mud fences. I have a couple of Laminates, which I also think are attractive, but a naturally figured Walnut stock is a thing of beauty. I have several nice pieces of wood on rifles, and have been known to buy a whole rifle just to acquire the lumber on it. Regards Eagleye

My rifles are for hunting and as much as I do like the look and feel of wood over plastic.....if I cann't scratch it without feeling bad, it has no place in the woods. I'm in the midst of trying to decide if I want to switch from my old Belgium Brownings to something requiring less care, like Sako's stainless laminates. Nice wood though.
