Just bought a single stage press and some 168 grain Match Kings. I'll be loading for an FNAR (And a Tikka T3). Planning on using Varget, maybe 4895? Wondering if anyone else is loading for an FNAR, and has some starting point advise for me :)

Look for "Service Rifle Loads" in reloading manuals for gas operated rifles. If you use too slow a burning powder and hotter loads you can damage your FNAR. The Tikka T3 is a different animal and loading is not limited by gas port pressure.

Really got on the money with my FNAR with Hornady 155 gr Match, 46.5 gr of Varget, BR2 primer and Lapua case with small dye... The FNAR being a 1 in 12, it will succed with lighter ogive, did not do as good with 168...

Ya man I’m loading for one as we speak ..... I’ve been using the 155 sierras and the 168......I have also hornady to try and some Berger 155...168..175
Well if I could post pics I would ...
So the 155, shot ok I found 3 accuracy nodes ...but!!! The velocities are not the greatest...in speed I’m using a magneto speed with 5shot groups
As for the 168 well the hotter I loaded them ....holy Christ the gun kicked and jumped was getting 2600...2625...2660 ....and no real good groups
Eh dude keep me in the loop I’m curious on how you do

Not sure if this was a wise move ..... since it’s 7.62x51.....I descided to use mill brass ivi..lake city ..federal .....I’m using cci #34 primers (box says for 7.62)
Using hornady 308 die first then. ... rcbs small base die ......Christ almighty they were fired out of a machine gun!!!,!
To bring back into spec
Dillon super swage 600 for primer pockets
