anyone loading 178 amax .308 for ELR?

Looking for some load data. I'm going to work up a new ELR load for my .308 this weekend using Hornady 178 Amax. I'll be using Varget and Lapua brass. I dont own a hornady load manual so Any help would be much appreciated.
 
I shoot pretty much shoot those exact components out of my TRG 22.

My final load is 44gr Varget, I went up to 45gr but the 44gr was better. No pressure signs with either.

I am getting just over 2,700 FPS but it is a 26" barrel.

In before someone says you have to develop a load for your own rifle/work up slowly/don't use my loan in your rifle/etc.

I know thanks I'm just curious how hot people are loading them and what kind of velocites are being achieved. Id like to find a node on the higher side in order to maintain supersonic out to 900m +

Almost same as me. 43.9gr out of TRG 22. Works well.

Probably find good load 43 to 44 grains. Hornady data is much lower than Hodgdon data or Lyman.
 
44.7gr varget under the 178's gets me avg 2740 fps out of 26"barrel on my 700. I shoot out to 1300m with this and get consistent hits at range. Wind is a pita at ELR but drops irrelevant as long as you know your dope.
 
178 amax and 43.9 grains of Varget was my go to for my 700P. Worked real well in my AR as well. Funny that two, way different guns, liked that load. Must be something about 44gr of Varget with the heavies :cool:
 
I am using 43.6 gr of Varget, Lapua brass with 178 AMAX at 2.226''. This is out of an AI AX with a 20" 1 in 12 Lothar Walther bbl but I don't shoot my 308 for ELR. Very good accuracy out to 600 m though.
