I started a few threads last year, didn't get alot of feedback, let's try it again!...

I have about 5-7lbs of varget to use up and have read that it is a great powder for 7mm-08.

Just wondering if anyone out there has a favourite 7mm-08 load with Varget.

I was shooting a 139gn Hornady BTSP with 43.gn of Varget, 43.5 is max and I just loaded some 43.3, 43.4 and 43.5 to try out. I am shooting a Tikka T3 and getting just a hair under 1", I think I can do better. Is there a better bullet to try? I want to stay in the 140gn for the best compromise between weight and trajectory.

On a side note, I was also loading some 22-250 and getting decent 3/4"groups but have since switched to Wally World's Winchester 45gn JHP and getting clover leaf groups and up to about 1/2" I don't really see the point in handloading 22-250 but I do enjoy it.
My 22-250 is also a T3.

I load 43grns of Varget under 140grn Accubonds in my son's T3. It shoots them sub 1" and has already proven to be an effective load on a near 6' bear he shot last spring.

Looks like I am in the ballpark then.
We'll see how these next few loads work, then after that, I will have to look at different projectiles.

not having much luck with my 139's, not grouping well at all and my best groups were loaded light, I guess I will try lighter but don't want to kill my long range.

I might have to try some other powders

Im loading 45.5gr varget with 120gr ballistic tip and lapua brass. Great hunting accuracy ,consistently under an inch. Hoping to get some Barnes 120ttsx to try out shortly.....
