I have been loading 3" .410 /1/2oz in Cheddite hull with long range "stretch "wads /H110 @ 1350fps with roll crimps for grouse. As well HV28ga with the same powder/Cheddite hull and 7/8 oz @ 1325fps for pheasants.Looks promising so I will try them out in the field ASAP. Both wads are designed for long range as I am not hunting with a dog usually.

BPI makes great components. I don't load a ton of shotgun ammo but I usually find myself looking for something or other from them. Your .410 load sounds like it would be great for Grouse. What shot and size do you use?

I'm trying #6 hard lead but the books reccomend nickel plated 8-9 shot. Both loads require an overshot card to crimp nicely.
