Stumbled over one today in Edmonton, I didn't know whether to cry or flip out, because apparently some Bubba got tired of improving Lee Enfields and turned their filthy F-ing hands onto one of these sweet rifles.
They had cut off the ears on the front site, but the rest remained, replaced the front site blade, cut off the piling hook but left the base metal, and then butchered the stock (badly cracked as well), sanding down the butt to about half its thickness.
The action screws had one with the securing screws, and one without, and the rear sight had seen better days.
On the upside, a new stock/buttplate (easy to find)and new nosecap and screw (good luck with that) and you would only need to recreate the piling hook and she would be complete...all for 600$ at a pawnshop no less. Uncle Ed's if someone wants to save this poor little thing, I for one just wanted the nose cap, and 600 seemed to much for that.
