Anyone made a scope mount for a No 4 ?

Hey Bob,

No-gunsmith: There are only a few options that can really work. S&K makes one that's good. Also, if you really want the best: G.E. Fulton & Son scope mount. But, not cheap. Brian, at BDL ltd, has some I believe. Then, there's a good member here, Gairlochian, who makes one that works too.

If the receiver is already drilled and tapped, it could be for the common Weaver "TO-1" scope mount (that's what I have on a few scoped sporters here). But I wouldn't drill an intact receiver, I'd save it for a future refurb...

i have. was an experiment. worked very well. its a mistake in my opinion not to take advantage of the rear holes for the original peep sight. there is a pin there, and a longer ejector screw. then there is a wedge that goes in the charger guide and tightens up from the top, before you put the bases/ scope on. it works very well

Strange this hasn't come up before... or has it? A search will reward you with more details, but meanwhile here are some no-gunsmithing mounts you can install yourself:

1. Marstar lists the ATI, but at present the website says "sold out."

2. I don't know of any Canadian source for the Cad-Technik, (which is my favourite, so I have looked.) Brownells sells them in the U.S. and they used to ship orders to Canada but I haven't bought anything from them for several years so you'll have to ask them yourself.

3. I think both B-Square and S&K mounts have been offered in Canada by Canadian retailers but I can't remember who. Others here will probably steer you in the right direction.

4. Armalon in the U.K. makes one. I'm sure it's not cheap, but they don't have trouble exporting to Canada, which is an advantage over U.S. sources.

The Cad-Technik is the only one I know that allows you to retain the rear sight. It is a two piece and you can take the scope off and use the rear sight or at least flip it up to allow the bolt to be removed for cleaning, and it doesn't lose zero (some report theirs does, but both of mine work as advertised.) It does put the scope higher than the others, though, so you'll need to do something about a raised cheekpiece. And it's not cheap.

I have one like Beaters. I bought it from a member here, but he didn't make it. Just a piece of angle iron but built with precision and strong. Works great.

M14Doctor made 1 too but I can't find any pic's. I would PM him for some pic's and info on how it works & if he still sells them.

yes I have. it is easy and stupid strong

Aside from looking like exactly what it is. It is the best Lee Enfield mount around. The mount is crazy strong. I have no regrets.

IMHO, the S&K is about as good as they get. Pricey, perhaps, but rock-solid..... and you don't have to drill any holes that minty Number 4 with the 3-digit serial!
