Rare WWI sniper scope model 1913 no-93 Warner & Swasey pat -06-08. Optics is excellent, 90% original paint. Needs eye cap. This is the Ross rifle model issued with no range correction, chort on top, clean scope. Case is perfect, no broken stiching. M.J. Wilson & Sons, Ottawa 1916. Has broad arrow mark with no-3 used on canadian army items. No missing screws.

I'll post a link to it later . I just figure if its not complete with the side rail mount its pretty much worthless as you will never find the parts to complete it.

Be very careful with the W & S scopes. If it says "Just needs minor cleaning" don't touch it. The lenses and prisms are a real bit**h to work on and in fact most of the scopes are toast. Much like the ZF 41 scope....crimped together and it takes you 10 hours just to pull a lens and with lots of luck it might go back in..... If you want to pull out your hair, play with prisms and not have the factory set up jigs..........

with all the corrosion on the ocular housing you MIGHT be able to remove it with a pipe wrench.... Probably worth the price of scrap brass and not much more.

I don't mind working on a zf41 scope. But that Ross one looks tough.

Nice thing about disassembling a zf41 is that it's all in line, no perpendicular knobs and such.

That auction is for a pretty beat up example of the U.S. W&S. It's not the Ross version... ;)

The one below is for a Springfield 1903, but 500 were bought buy the Canadian government and modified for use on the Ross rifle during WW1. Some did end up mounted on P14's at the start of WWII

For anyone wanting to compare the Ross version of the Warner and Swasey scope .. ;)

An "all matching" 1915 Ross MKIII sniper rifle serial #223 complete with its matching Warner and Swasey scope No. 18, 1913 patent. The stock is also stamped "SCOPE NO 18" and the scope base on the rifle is also stamped "18". The original tooled leather case for the scope is C-Broad Arrowed marked and stamped with both the scope serial number (18) and the rifle number (223).

(Click PIC to Enlarge)

This sniper rifle is from the first 250 batch ordered by the Canadian Government and being "SCOPE NO 18", it would have been very early in the production run of these rare rifles, with not very many surviving all these years.

It's a scam. The photos are from eBay a couple of years ago. Same scam was tried about a year ago. The owner of No93 still has his scope and it's not in England.
