I posted this in "Legalese" but so far all I'm getting is crickets.

So, has anyone ever ordered component bullets from overseas before? Are there permits required to bring them into the country? I know that getting things from the US is a paperwork nightmare, but what about other countries?

I ask because I emailed Kobus van der Westhuizen of Rhino Bullets in RSA to find out if they have a Canadian distrinbutor. I want to try some of his 286gr 9.3mm RNs but don't want to get myself in hot water or lose a pricey box of bullets to CBSA. Are there regs that deal with this situation or is it a non-issue?

Actual experience or cited legal references only. No offense, but I don't care what someone's neighbour/cousin/BIL did one time when he ordered from overseas.

Thanks in advance.

I got some bullets and brass mailed from Sweden. No permits involved. I can't say about RSA export regulations, but your supplier there would hopefully understand the export requirements. If RSA requires an export permit, you may have to get a Canadian import permit, even though there is no legal requirement to do so on the Canadian side, much like dealing with US suppliers.

I'd also be interested if there was a source of commercial ammo from RSA.
Pretty top notch stuff from what I had a chance to try out while over there.
