I am about to purchase an 835 12g pump new for $399. and would like some feedback from those out there who might know something about it.
Anyone own a Mossberg 835 ulti-mag, need opinions before purchase!

I was going to at one point buy one myself. but i didn't like the ported barrel or the overall clunky feel of the gun. I know they are very reliable, and work very well with a dedicated following. But I prefered the look and feel of the 870 Super Mag myself. But that's another story, as I don't have that one anymore either.
I own one. it is a really reliable shotgun. We bought the waterfowl camo, we use it mainly for trap shooting. Ported barrel really helps for those 3 1/2" shells. The only downside, I see is that you CANNOT shoot slugs through this barrel.

Your right no slugs, but my understanding is that it's one pin to field strip and swap barrels, no tools required. Besides I'd only be using it for trap and skeet.
I have the 935 autoloader. Both share the same overbored barrel (835 is ported). It patterns extremely well and is a very soft shooter, yours will boot more. The ability to adjust the drop in about 5min is great. Good value for money.
