I'm considering an Anschutz 1771D in .204 or .223 and was wondering if anyone can give me a quick review? Does it live up to its reputation for accuracy? How are the ergonomics, heft, scope mounts, trigger etc? Anything you don't like about it? Would it make a good varmint rifle for packing around? Thanks!

I have a couple of Anschutz centerfires rifles based on the Match 54 action, somewhat like the 1771D. Quick lock time, excellent triggers, smooth action. Ergonomics depend on your preferences. The only think I don't like the is the flag type safety, I find it difficult to flip off safe in a hunting situation. The 1771 has a better design.
