anyone own an aussie arms enfield knockoff?

My grandfather bought one awhile back . He got the full sized no4 style and that thing easily outshoots most of my "modern" rifles plus the weight of the rifle soaks up most of the recoil. And the 10 round mags fit in a m14
. BUT the rifle is a little on the expensive side.

Rifles look and feel solid, there was some controversy recently on one or the other sites, regarding the idea that alot of the parts were/are farmed out to Viet Nam or some such, while the gun says "made in Aussie land". Maybe some of our Australian members could wade in on this one!

Nope the mag hold a complete ten because it was designed for a bolt action so it can hold as many as the mags will allow
Look in the Milsurp forum, I think there were some posts about them in there. Search on AIA, I believe.

yes i do recall they are indian made?? nothing australian in em.. from what i recall, pakistan or india..
they were selling an indian made australian smle machete bayonet for a while to, wasnt bad made, but it had an insane retail price for something made in india..
was something like 175$ aus...

Some if not all parts are sourced out from several factories in Asia but made for AIA. All the rifles are assembled and built in Australia. They are on the pricey side, but well worth it IMO. I have two, a MkIV and a B2.

I'm going to try mine out with a scope, just for ####s and giggles, it's an NCstar scope that more or less came with it when I bought it, now I have to wait a month or so until the road to the range dries out.

The AIA that I had was very heavy,but very accurate with all bullet weights that I put down the tube. The wood finish was perfect as was the blueing,the fitting of metal to wood was expertly done. But someone else wanted it more than I did,I like hunting rifles more than target rifles. I have replaced the AIA with a nice little Remington 600 in .308 that will see more hunting time than Aussie rifle would have.
Anyone who buys one will be impressed by the look of the AIA rifles and the accuracy is as good as any Remington 700 that I have owned.

I have an M10 B2 Match. It has a Shepherd 3-10, with range finding circles that have bee calibrated very closely to the 7.62x51 weight and velocity. It is an outstanding performer. It shoots as well as my CZ varminter in 308.
In my opinion they are worth every penny. They also digest every kind of surplus 7.62x51 that I've put through it very reliably and shoot it accurately.
Just be aware, they are heavy and are not hunting rifles. They might be OK if you're just going to and from a stand or blind but they're just to heavy to pack around the bush. It would also be a shame to mark up that beautiful stock.
For the price Marstar and some other dealers are asking for them, it's almost impossible to build one to those standards.
I really like them and would reccomend them to anyone that asks.

I don't actually own one but a guy at a range had one when I was in Sydney one time and he was talking about how he'd scored it.
He'd been chatting with a milsurp specialist at a gun show and mentioned that he had a Lithgow No1 MkIII* that had been FTR and had a completely new unshot bbl.
He said he was going to whack a scope on it as he regarded guns as tools.
The guy told him that for $100 he would give him a new AIA No4 and his perfect Lithgow would go to a museum where it belonged.
So he did the swap and the AIA shot amazingly.
Using dodgy PMC ammo it grouped well with a 3" bull at 50m and he hadn't even put a scope on it.
I even managed to put it on target well enough and the weight made it kind on the shoulder even though it had a brass butt plate.
That said, after walking around up hill and down dale on the weekend in search of deer my arms were sore from carrying my T3 Lite Stainless and it weighs 6.5lbs with a scope.
Lugging an AIA No4 would kill me!

Which is still a fraction of the current market value on a genuine machete bayonet.... I have heard of ones going on auction for above $2000 Australian dollars.
Kinda the same reason I bought an RFI No5 bayonet, until I can afford the real thing...
