I've been throwing around the idea of getting matching his&her's guns, but Id like something unique; like matching serial numbers or logo's on the slides. I think STI lets people order with custom serial numbers, but Id really only consider one with a blanked out slide; well that and the fact that my last STI purchase was a total dud, and the name sounds weird since Health Canada re-branded STD's as STI's:mad:.
I'd also consider Dlask but I don't think Joseph does hard chromed, or stainless... anyone else look into this? or know a custom manufacturer that could whip a couple 1911's up? or shop that does custom engraving so If I send them two matching guns they can make them unique?

First off DOES SHE REALLY REALLY REALLY LIKE GUNS?

If no or alittle, Then I would not buy her a gun "unless you want a matching divorce gift"

Ya man make sure shes really into shooting unless you want to get shot.
Matching 1911's are the most common ive seen or ar15's but if theres no rpals it usually nicely engraved over/unders

Im pretty sure she's here to stay, and she's hooked on archery/shooting complete with her own RPAL; so the divorce present isnt an issue. I see Novak tweaks 1911's but I dont think they make their own. What about Wilson Combat (?). Im just stuck on stainless or at least stainless slide/aluminum frame like a kimber.

well if you were willing to go for something other than a 1911 your post kinda made me think of something ive been meaning to do. which is buy two beretta 92's one in black and one inox then swap the barrels, triggers, sights, hammer....etc to create two, two-tone berettas, a look i really love, plus then they could sorta convey the corny idea of the two of you completing each other... dunno why i thought of that. just did.

Ok IDK about the matching gun thing but does your wife have a sister?

I think the matching gun idea in your case would be kind of cool but you should make sure whatever you get is done with a custom / unique aspect so they aren't just a couple of matching guns. They are specific to you two - like engravings etc.

Go with a consective numbered pair of beretta target .22 pistols. Beretta has the personel to turn them into one of a kind guns. .22 pistols will get more use than center fire.

How much time and $$$ are you willing to spend. A set of custom guns takes time to put together. Look at Nutmeg Sports for inspiration... :)

Thanks, Ill look into that, Im not having much luck, I was actually thinking of getting caspian custom parts made up stateside and tweaked by someone, then getting profit river to import them after the custom work was done...I was noticing allot of interesting components on ebay (I guess they changed their gun part rules) Something totally unique.
